Welcome to my website, the Connatio. I launched this site in January 2026 to organize some of my personal writings, mostly short reflections, vignettes, or
poems—things that might otherwise end up in my journals, or the margins of my notebooks, depending when inspiration strikes. There’s some older stuff, too. Pieces that have stuck with me enough to make me want to revise them and post them here.
The name, Connatio, comes from the Latin noun conatio meaning attempt or endeavor. My hope is that maintaining this site will motivate me to write more, so in that way it’s a means of my own conatio towards being a better writer. There’s also some interesting etymology involving conation, a psychological term for the mental faculty of purpose. Maybe I’ll explore this more in the future.
If you have any questions or comments, about the writing or otherwise, please feel free to reach me at [email protected]
